The world’s first IVF clinic celebrates 40 years of IVF

This month marks the 40th anniversary of IVF and the first IVF Baby, Louise Brown.
This scientific and historic breakthrough was made possible due to decades of research by Bourn Hall Clinic founders, Doctors Robert Edwards and Patrick Steptoe.

In-vitro Fertilisation, or simply IVF, is an assisted reproduction treatment involving the collection of eggs from the woman, after the ovaries have been hormonally stimulated. The eggs are fertilised in a laboratory with sperm from the husband.
